Pakistani jet carrying 127 people crashes amid storm near Islamabad; all feared dead

Emergency workers with flashlights searched the smouldering wreckage of a passenger jet carrying 127 people that crashed into a muddy wheat field Friday while trying to land in a violent thunderstorm at Islamabad's main airport.

The government said there appeared to be no survivors in the crash of the Boeing 737-200 near Benazir Bhutto International Airport — the second major air disaster in the Pakistani capital in less than two years.

Illegal job action by Air Canada pilots leads to cancellations at Pearson

Air Canada has issued a nation-wide travel alert warning of delays after an "illegal job action" by a "small number" of its pilots affected several flights at Pearson International Airport and other air travel hubs Friday.

“It appears that a small number of pilots are engaging in an illegal job action and that’s having a result of leading to cancellations of some flights,” Air Canada spokesman Peter Fitzpatrick told CityNews.
