I am back to my desk to feature a traveller who hails from the city of Bangkok in Thailand. A very good friend of our family, a very bubbly couple, Kwan & Denchai.  My family and Kwan's first met in Osaka, Japan when I was on my Asian tour.  It only took us few minutes to talk and exchange ideas and we all realized that we became comfortable to each other.  And because Bangkok is included in my itinerary, Kwan invited us to give her a call as soon as we arrive in Bangkok.  And we did!  I remember Kwan's few words when she came to our hotel with her very loving husband, Denchai. "We will be your tour guide for the whole day and whole night.... and don't worry, it is for free," she mused.  The gesture is very touching especially coming from new friends like Kwan and Denchai.  True to her word, the couple did not leave us during the tour until late at night.  We literally painted the town red.

Denchai is a quiet guy. Obviously,  he lets Kwan do most of the talking.  He is a man of few words.

Kwan is a successful businesswoman, engaged in the real estate business. Denchai is an engineer by profession.  They go on holidays whenever their busy schedules permit.  Kwan never leave Denchai behind.  They have travelled to Japan, China, Vietnam, England, Scotland, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Austria and Kenya. On my last conversation with Kwan, she was so excited about their trip to their own country in southern Thailand.  I will let Kwan tell the highlights of their travel story.

I live in Bangkok and my city is full of history.  I love Thailand and I know it is very popular in the world as a tourist destination.  I have travelled most places in my country but I can say that Krabi is the most beautiful province in Thailand.  It is a paradise!  If you are planning a visit  to my country, I would recommend Krabi.  December to March are the best times to come, and book well in advance because hotels and bungalows fill up quickly during these months.  I have spent few days in Lanta Island and had the chance of watching the amazing sunrise one early morning.  In the past, there are not many tourists who would know the island which is hiding within the sea of Andaman.  It is the atmosphere that you have to discover.  This is the best place for those who want to run away from all the hustle and bustle of the city and feel the touch of nature and get fascinated.

I also went for a trip to Maya Bay, a one-hour trip by boat.  It is stunning!  There are several beaches inside the bay although tiny ones exist only at low tide. I went around and enjoy the silky soft white sand. It was amazing as I see exotic fishes and underwater colourful corals while snorkeling. There are many tourists on speedboats and ferry boats carrying hundreds to snorkel and scuba dive.  Come to Maya Bay early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowd.  There are thousands of people who visits the bay each day, so I heard. Here I want you to see how beautiful the bay through my photos posted here.  Enjoy!

My excitement to travel is not only in my Thailand.  My journey becomes more interesting with the company of my friends and my Denchai.  I have some photos that I would like to share especially my trip to Japan, Switzerland and Spain.  I also included in my precious collection of photos at the Chao Praya River with very good friend and author of this blog.  I cannot ask for more ~ my travelling will not stop.  I will continue exploring whenever time and situation permits.

Today is August 25, 2012.  I just came back from the Republic of Kenya. I had a nice time with my hubby, Denchai in the Safari world of this East African country.  It was an amazing 8-day trip with a group of travellers.  At times, I have close encounter with animals like lions, elephant, rhinos, cheetah, hippos and giraffes and other wild beast that you can only see in this country.  It is an exciting experience in this animal kingdom.

Enjoy some of my photos including my latest trip where I had my breakfast in the grassland.  So unique and memorable!
