"A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you
control it"
~ John Steinbeck
It is amazing to have Antonis a part of our travel blog. A seasoned traveller and a journalist in his own right.
He has travelled to Italy, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, France, Bulgaria, Albania, Turkey, Gibraltar, Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Indonesia, Thailand, South Africa, Singapore, USA (East Coast, South Carolina, Jacksonville, Miami , Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Gulf of Mexico, New Orleans, Florida Keys, Saint Augustine, Orlando) Cuba (Avana, Guantanamo bay), Bermuda, Azores, Gibraltar, Atlantic Ocean onboard and will continue travelling to China , Australia , Argentina and Russia.
Although Antonis has already wandered the four corners of the world, he still believe that the beauty is in his own backyard. And yes, there is no denying that he will not stop promoting his country to travellers whose goal is to discover places that they have not seen before.
Antonis travels using almost all means of transports and you will see him mostly on motorbikes and on foot. To him, budget is the most important thing although he usually travels on assignment or with invitation from local authorities.
Curiosity lead him to find more places to explore.....
He is obsessed in discovering the off-the-beaten-track and always choose the road less travelled to make his every trip worthwhile.
"Always try to get contact with the locals. But first of all, when you leave home, forget yourself. It is the only way to re-discover it through travelling, he says." A nobel prized Greek poet wrote once that.... "The very first thing created by God is the big journey..." Antonis strongly believe that.....
Antonis have a lot more to share. Understandly, the many years of travelling made him excited to do more of his unusual journey. Continue reading his interesting story....

I'm Antonis Iordanoglou. For many years, I am a business traveller, journalist, photographer and cartographer. I started travelling when I stopped teaching mathematics, which was my main study.
I have written numerous recommendations for the most unknown regions of Greece. I have made numerous maps and travel guides and albums for big Greek newspapers and magazines. I wrote hundreds of articles, and still am, for my great love of the sea.
I have driven jeeps, rode bicycles, sailed on boats and did travel on foot. These are the ways I love to do to enjoy life at its best.
I was inspired to create a blog after hundreds of miles trekking the mountains and exploring islands and coasts of Greece. It's solely about Greece, its culture, monuments, landscapes, adventure and people.
I want to spread the word about a country like mine that is unknown to tourists, unknown to travellers and unknown even to the Greeks. I want to share and inspire fellow travellers with my stories and pictures of my unusual trips. This will not stop and will continue until you see for yourself the charm that I myself did see for the first time. Come over. You will be glad you did!
Let me tell you exactly why The Greek Traveller has been on the web for quite a while. Some unknown travellers who have travelled with me to the unknowns, have left Greece with great experiences. A journey that they are so excited to tell their friends about their good memories.
Sharing my discoveries truly inspire me and I want to continue what I have been doing.....
Firstly, because I want to share Greece's hidden secrets.
Secondly, because I want to change what most visitors think and do when travelling. They come to Greece's popular and vaunted places that is why they lose the chance to meet the rest, the charming little developed and unknown country.
Thirdly, because I believe that the journey can change you and your journey to the culture and landscape of authentic Greece is such a memorable trip.
Beyond this, part of my job is to escort the rating year in a specially designed trips. If you are thinking of some "unusual" trip to Greece and want to combine luxury and routes out of the beaten track, you can always count on me. If you are travelling alone and need a company to simply plan together your schedule or travel with me in such a fully customized trip, then I will be glad to help you find the great pleasure when I share the knowledge and experience deep within me. I will be at your service!
